This year has been another exciting one for Baby Lifeline Training – travelling the country to share knowledge, creating brand-new courses, and connecting with fantastic delegates and faculty along the way. Here are some of the moments that made 2025 unforgettable…

We trained over 2150 delegates in 2025!

Childbirth Emergencies in the Community was our most frequently delivered training course again this year.

We delivered 60 training courses covering 21 different topics to 2150 delegates across the UK and further afield. This equates to over 70 days of learning. Around half of our courses took place online, and half took place in-person.

This year we trained healthcare professionals from all four devolved nations, and delivered in-person courses as far and wide as Durham, Norwich, Gateshead, Galway, Dublin and Jersey. In our online courses, we welcomed delegates from countries in Europe and South America to learn together with UK-based healthcare professionals, and at our Advanced CTG Masterclass in-person in London, delegates joined us from Ireland, Belgium and Spain as well as the UK!

The course we delivered most often again this year was Childbirth Emergencies in the Community. This course ran 17 times in-person to delegates across the UK and in the Republic of Ireland! Meanwhile, more than 600 delegates developed their skills in CTG interpretation via our CTG Masterclass and Advanced CTG Masterclass in 2025.

New developments for Baby Lifeline Training

This year we developed FOUR brand-new courses!

Our Train the Trainers: Cultural Curiosity and Safety Workshop took place for the first time in June 2025 and will be running again in 2026. This three-day course, led by Course Directors Hannah Thompson and Benash Nazmeen, supports delegates to run our popular Cultural Curiosity and Safety Workshop in-house, and explores key research in understanding bias in healthcare, understanding values and behaviour, and enhances facilitation skills development.

Hannah and Benash also led our brand-new Working with Language Barriers in Healthcare course online in October, which aims to ensure healthcare professionals are equipped to overcome language barriers, providing accessible and compassionate care for all patients.

“Language barriers is such an anxiety in maternity and causes a lot of worries for the safety of our mums and babies but I think this training has made a lot of us feel less alone in our worries and given us the skills to combat that. Really wish all maternity staff could access this course!”

We were delighted to be asked to develop and design a suite of online training courses for South Central Ambulance Service this year. The team asked us to deliver workshops specifically for their team covering Perinatal Mental Health, Communication, and Cultural Curiosity and Safety. We really loved working with the team, and developing a bespoke course that addressed their training needs.

Labour Ward Coordinators in North West London attended our Leadership and Communication course in November 2025. This was commissioned by their ICB.

We travelled to London at the end of November to deliver another bespoke course – this time a training course for Labour Ward Coordinators working at North West London ICB. Along with subject experts and Baby Lifeline’s advisory panels, we co-designed a bespoke two-day training programme which covers coaching, resilience, leadership and communication. We are looking forward to delivering this course again after Christmas!

Our Impact

An important part of our work is making sure that our courses are always up-to-date, relevant and impactful. We take feedback from our pre- and post-course surveys seriously, and are always redeveloping and improving what we do.

In 2025, 93% of responding delegates told us that the quality of our courses was “very good” or “excellent,” and nine in ten also told us that they plan to change their practice in a major or minor way following our training. When we followed up after 12 weeks, 88% had made a change to their practice as a result of training with us.
