Our Cultural Curiosity and Safety (CCS) workshops aim to address disparities in care delivery, foster a culture of inclusion, and improve patient outcomes by exploring the relationship between individual values, biases, and behaviours using a values alignment methodology. This Train the Trainer course supports delegates to run the Cultural Curiosity and Safety (CCS) workshop in-house.
Bias in clinical practice, particularly against marginalised groups, remains a critical issue in healthcare, contributing to disparities in care quality, patient outcomes, and overall patient satisfaction (Knight et al., 2023). Through targeted interventions that help staff recognise and manage their own unconscious biases, organisations can achieve more equitable and compassionate care.
Our Train the Trainer course ensures that this methodology is cascaded effectively across your organisation, maximises impact and sustainability, and encourages a transformative cultural understanding and organisational change.
Delegates will explore the following elements:
Theoretical Foundations
Workshop Framework and Methodology
Facilitation Skills Development
Practical Facilitation Practice
Customisation for Organisational Needs
Trainers will be observed and approved on their facilitation skills during the programme and receive certification upon successful completion. Following completion of the course, ongoing support is provided via mentorship sessions and email contact.
The course also includes trainer manuals, workshop templates, and facilitation toolkits to ensure consistency, and support in selecting local case studies to maximise impact.
The Train the Trainer course covers a license for the organisation to run the training for 18 months, only if delegates are successful in attending and completing all aspects of the course. After 18 months, a top up and small follow up fee is required to maintain the license.
This course is relevant for all members of the maternity team that have a particular interest in inequalities, and some teaching/leadership responsibility in their organisation. Delegates will usually have completed basic training in inequalities already and be keen to develop their skills further.
