He has presented both nationally and internationally on obstetric haematology themes and has co-authored around 40 articles.
He was recently involved in a multi-centre worldwide research project to study the effect of Covid-19 infection on venous thromboembolic risk in pregnancy, which has recently been submitted for publication.
Etienne is also involved in medical education as Co-Lead of the Year IV MBChB course within the University of Leeds School of Medicine and was awarded the Clinical Teaching Excellence Award (2014) and the Leeds Distinguished Scholar Award (2019) for his involvement in undergraduate education. He was a College Tutor in his department for several years.
He is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists extended multiple choice question (EMQ) sub-committee and regularly examines at the MRCOG Part 3 OSCE exam.
