Emily Hill

Research Midwife – Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

RM BSc (Hons) MA

Emily qualified as a Midwife in 2007 and since then has enjoyed working in a number of settings. Emily has practised in NHS Trusts both in London and Yorkshire.

The majority of this time she has been a clinical midwife working in midwifery led and obstetric led settings, including home birth settings, stand alone birth centres, alongside birth centres and obstetric units. Emily’s past experiences include working as a quality improvement midwife, this role allowed her to audit clinical practise and assist with service improvements. She has also worked in Uganda in a birth house, 50km from an obstetric unit, this low resource setting was an incredible place to work. At times it was very challenging to facilitate safe maternal and infant care.

From 2012 until 2024 Emily worked for Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust both at the alongside Birth Centre and in community, she was a faculty member for in-house training. Since spring 2024 Emily has been a Research Midwife at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.  Emily is a faculty member for Baby Lifeline’s Childbirth Emergencies in the Community course since 2017.
