Improving Outcomes for those with Comorbidities in Pregnancy

Clare Cook

Patient Blood Management Practitioner
NHS Blood & Transplant

I am a registered nurse and until recently a registered midwife, working within the UK and internationally.  I have practiced as a clinical leader, educator and have experience commissioning and improving women’s health services.

My current role is a Patient Blood Management Practitioner within NHS Blood and Transplant. The aim of patient blood management (PBM) is to improve people’s health outcomes and wellbeing by optimising their own blood. I am using my background in women’s health and role in PBM to raise awareness of the impact that anaemia has on women of childbearing age.
