Using a combination of formal talks, workshops, and interactive discussions the following topics are covered:
- The national context: a whole system approach (LMNs/ICBs) – why assurance is so important for maternity safety and where we are nationally
- The Board Assurance Framework and how it links with maternity services
- Trust examples and journeys of “what good looks like”
- Benchmarking against national reports, national guidelines, regional / national audits
- Monitoring outcomes and experiences
- What a good action plan looks like
- Monitoring outcomes and experiences through family engagement and outcome data
- “Reading the signals” and problem-sensing
- Practical application and putting it into practice, including presenting to the board and improvement project
