COURSE CONTENT

Using a combination of formal talks, workshops, and interactive discussions the following topics are covered:

  • The national context: a whole system approach (LMNs/ICBs) – why assurance is so important for maternity safety and where we are nationally
  • The Board Assurance Framework and how it links with maternity services
  • Trust examples and journeys of “what good looks like”
  • Benchmarking against national reports, national guidelines, regional / national audits
  • Monitoring outcomes and experiences
  • What a good action plan looks like
  • Monitoring outcomes and experiences through family engagement and outcome data
  • “Reading the signals” and problem-sensing
  • Practical application and putting it into practice, including presenting to the board and improvement project
