This highly acclaimed two-day CTG Masterclass course is beneficial for all professionals who are involved in interpreting CTG traces. It is compulsory for professionals to attend the Foundation CTG Masterclass before attending the Advanced CTG Masterclass

There has been a well-documented need for multi-professional improvements to CTG interpretation for decades to improve neonatal and maternal outcomes.

Errors with fetal heart rate monitoring was the most common theme found in Five years of cerebral palsy claims: A thematic review of NHS Resolution data (2017).

NHS England (NHS England, 2019, 2016) recommends effective fetal monitoring in labour as one of the key elements of care designed to tackle stillbirth and neonatal deaths, and that training in CTG interpretation should be annual.

AIMS OF THE COURSE

The Advanced CTG Masterclass aims to enable midwives and obstetricians to be the champions of change in their local maternity units; to bring about a paradigm shift in CTG interpretation based on fetal physiology, so as to reduce unnecessary operative interventions whilst improving perinatal outcomes. The two day course will go into more detail and allow further reflection, which will demand a basic level of knowledge of the approach.
