Louisa qualified as a midwife in 2001. The majority of her career has been spent within the intrapartum environment covering both normality and complex care delivery within a variety of settings. She has been blessed to have had opportunities to work abroad in both India and Australia which provided invaluable experience to enhance her own care delivery.
Louisa has always been passionate about education and development, with her focus being around the management of obstetric emergencies and fetal monitoring. She is now proud to be a Practice Development Midwife within the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust in Birmingham where she enjoys finding innovative ways to engage the MDT in learning to manage emergencies and enhance team working.
Outside of work she is also kept very busy chasing after two very active boys and uses running marathons to keep her fully functioning as a midwife and a mother.
