She has over twenty years’ experience supporting people working in humanitarian, health and social care organisations: which includes working on the ground with maternity health professionals when leading a Sure Start program in London.
Kirstien’s PhD research with Exeter University and the Somerset Care Group looked at what sustains people’s motivation to provide compassionate care.

Kirstien is a BACP registered counsellor and is passionate about guiding people towards accessing their innate resilience and resourcefulness, particularly during difficult times.
Out of work, she enjoys dancing, wild swimming, gardening and family life with three vibrant children.
