Jenny has worked in safety investigation for over 20 years and is an experienced human factors consultant with a background in operational systems, training and lecturing.
Jenny is a chartered engineer and has an MSc in Human Factors. She has experience in assessing and improving organisational cultures and leadership behaviours for a large number of organisations across different safety critical industries.
She has been involved in training all of the HSIB investigation team, to date, and has co-chaired all of the maternity investigation courses for HSIB at Cranfield University. She currently provides investigation support services for the HSIB maternity investigation team, providing guidance on human factors and report writing. Jenny has also conducted independent human factors investigations in support of some of the national HSIB investigations.
Jenny is a Member of the International Society of Air Safety Investigators, the Royal Aeronautical Society, the Clinical Human Factors Group, and she is also an advisor for the Before Arrival at Hospital Study. She has been a patient member for NICE clinical guideline developments, and she volunteers in running sepsis support groups on behalf of the UK Sepsis Trust.
