Clara qualified as a midwife in 1995 and has enjoyed working in a variety of different roles in practice and education since then.  Clara has practised in seven Trusts in London and the South of England, gaining clinical experience in a number of midwifery led and obstetric settings including community, two standalone birth centres and two alongside midwifery led units. Clara’s past experience also includes lecturing in midwifery and working for CMACE where Clara contributed to the confidential enquiries and led a National programme of interactive workshops to disseminate enquiry findings.

Clara has been a Consultant Midwife since 2011, joining Hampshire Hospitals NHS FT in 2013. Clara works across the service’s three clinical sites in Andover, Basingstoke and Winchester and her role includes supporting those women who have additional care planning needs. Clara is a member of the faculty for Baby Lifeline’s Childbirth Emergencies in the Community course.
