03 Jul National Energy Action
National Energy Action (NEA), the national fuel poverty charity, are delighted to be working in partnership with Baby Lifeline to deliver the ‘Warm Welcome’ project.
The Warm Welcome project is being delivered in the North East of England and provides advice and practical support for expectant mothers and families with young children who are struggling to afford to keep their homes warm and healthy.
Too many families cannot afford to heat their home – an issue which becomes even more problematic when a new baby is born.
In partnership with Baby Lifeline, NEA will:
- provide energy advice and support to help families manage their energy bills, keep warm and deal with fuel debt;
- provide training for frontline staff, working with new and expectant mothers, to help identify families who may struggle to heat their homes, provide basic energy advice and know where to refer people for support;
- provide emergency funding grants for households to top up energy meters, to keep the lights and heating on or to purchase warm clothes for their children.
